i coach the athletes that most coaches don’t know how to handle.

why i built this coaching practice

In 2013, I was diagnosed with Lupus. Suddenly, my relationship with running changed. The diagnosis was a shock to my body and my entire way of living. As someone who played sports all her life and was finally starting to fall in love with long distance running, starting over was harder than I could’ve expected.

Because I didn’t know any other runners with my diagnosis and my doctor’s couldn’t tell me how to proceed with exercise - I had to learn how to train through fatigue, manage flare-ups, and listen to my body in new ways. The journey was far from linear but that experience transformed me from a runner into an advocate.

I became a certified run coach and public health professional because I wanted to help other autoimmune athletes do what I've done: continue pursuing their running & movement goals while taking excellent care of their health. Not despite their diagnosis, but with full knowledge of it.

Today, I specialize in coaching athletes with conditions like:

  • Lupus

  • Hashimoto’s and thyroid conditions

  • Rheumatoid Arthritis

  • IBD (Crohn’s, Ulcerative Colitis)

  • Celiac Disease

  • And other autoimmune conditions and chronic illness conditions

Training Athletes with Autoimmune Conditions: My Approach

Running with an autoimmune disease requires a different approach. Here's how I coach autoimmune athletes:

**Personalized Pacing: Your training intensity adapts to how you're feeling, accounting for flare-ups and inflammation levels.

**Recovery-First Mindset: Rest isn't weakness—it's strategic. We build recovery into your plan proactively.

**Nutrition Support: As a Certified AIP Practitioner, I can guide you through anti-inflammatory nutrition strategies that support training.

**Realistic Goal-Setting: We set ambitious goals that honor your health, not fight it.

**Constant Communication: Your body talks—I teach you to listen, and we adjust your plan accordingly.
